One Friday November 5th approximately 40 students along with Mme. Lépine and myself headed out to the One with the Biosphere project. Our mission: pick the invading thistles to try to allow native species to replace them. We were successful in picking 10 garbage bags full of the prickly invaders thanks to some very hard work from the students.
We also collected seeds form mature Tall Grass Prairie species that will be planted at a later date. We collected seeds from both Big Bluestem and Little Bluestem.
A beautiful warm fall day spent out in our own little patch of Manitoba Prairie!
